Before creativity becomes cohesive, it must first have free-reign. Before a team can harmonize, its members must dive into the asynchronous rhythm of their own expertise. Before an interior becomes iconic, its designers will have pulled from endless inspiration sought across time and space. At this year’s Sleep & Eat Virtual, Tony Chi and Alison Chi of tonychi studio will take the audience through some of the studio’s most acclaimed projects, which encapsulate the notion of “designing to contain the chaos.”

“The City that Never Sleeps” is a slogan usually associated with New York, however, one can argue that it also holds true for London. Despite the pandemic-related difficulties for the industry, a handful of long-awaited properties have opened or are opening in the capital, prompting a glimmer of hope for the recovery process and keeping the spirits up, round the clock. A panel of general managers will discuss all the elements surrounding the operational and leadership aspects of managing such a challenging process.

In this keynote Lauren will be exploring how to create now for the future. Our industry is at an unprecedented point where no one has the answers but everyone wants to move forward. In the next reality we can speak about different levels of clean - clean, really clean and the perception of clean. How these different levels manifest themselves in guest behaviour and choices and what does that mean for hotel design of the future – Lauren will dig deep into her understanding of the craft to try answer these questions.

Women In Hotels

Sleep & Eat Virtual is excited to host a Women in Hotels (WiH) curated panel as part of this year’s content. Jinal Patel will chair the panel discussion on sustainability from a development and financing perspective. WiH was founded in April 2020 as a diversity and inclusion initiative to mentor, inspire, support and empower women across the various segments of the hotel sector with the mission to create a best-in-class community of future leaders and current C-level executives. The not-for-profit association has received a remarkable response to its initial phase and is now developing an extended framework that can welcome members from across the globe. In an exclusive for Sleep & Eat Virtual, Jinal Patel discusses the launch of the inaugural UK Hotel Market Structure & Financing Report alongside Dr Nicole Lux and Josie Hearnden.
