Katy works within InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) Interior Design team and has the responsibility for design within the voco and unbranded hotels for new build and refurbishment projects. Responsible for leading the newest brand for IHG, voco is predominantly conversion led, as such it is covering a wide variety of hotel types and locations. Katy is tasked with constantly trying to push the brand design direction while making sure it is implemented globally but with a primary focus on growth in Europe. Part of this implementation has been through the development of a number of brand design handbooks and also the roll out of an expanded but defined colour scheme as well as working on new hotel signings for the brand. Prior to joining IHG, Katy worked with an agency who’s specialism was also in hospitality where she conceptualised, designed, specified, detailed and implemented design solutions on a range of projects across the globe including; large hotels, resorts, small boutiques, residential and casinos. An Interior Architect by training, has led Katy to have a great attention to detail -identifying the true purpose behind every design and design decision and ensuring all projects are supported with not only creative, but with justifiable solutions.
