Karina is the Director of Food & Beverage at The Langham, London overseeing the performance of four dining and drinking venues, a busy events catering function, in room and staff dining. Since joining The Langham in April 2019, Karina has successfully launched Sauce by The Langham, a stylish new cookery school, seen her team at The Wigmore win London’s Best Pub in the Harden’s Awards and supported the Artesian team in the run up to the World’s 50 Best Bars, that they re-entered in October at #48. Karina is Brazilian, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. It was there that she started her training in hospitality before moving to the US to complete her degree. She lived in Boston and New Hampshire for seven years, working with in food and beverage roles in luxury hotels, before heading across the pond to London. She was a Beverage Manager at Grosvenor House where she was awarded Global Food & Beverage Professional of the Year award and also the creative mind behind the award-winning best international American whiskey bar, The Bourbon Bar, before moving to The Savoy where she rose to become the head of Food & Beverage, overseeing the performance and service delivery of all the outlets as well as Room Service, Events and Stewarding. She was also behind the re-opening of one of London’s most iconic dining venues, Simpsons in the Strand in 2017 and part of the team who lead the American Bar to the #1 World’s Best Bar.
